Sponsorship and donations
Fund a cadet scholarship, keep a veteran’s lights on.
The Mahoning and Shenango Valleys Chapter is a 501(c)(19) nonprofit veterans’ organization, chartered in 2011. Sponsorships and donations pay for the programs the chapter runs for local military veterans and their families.

Two ways to help
Sponsor the newsletter, or give what you can
Both options use the chapter’s secure payment pages. If you are sponsoring, contact the treasurer first so we can collect your artwork and confirm the placement.
Sponsorship
Sponsor the chapter
The chapter seeks a limited number of sponsorships each year. Two placements are offered, and they can be combined.
- A quarter-page posting in the monthly chapter newsletter, published 10 to 12 times a year.
- An information image in the website sidebar, seen by everyone who visits the site.
Donation
Make a general donation
A general donation of any amount helps sustain the programs the chapter offers to local military veterans and their families.
- Scholarships that help developing ROTC cadets.
- Support for local veterans, surviving spouses, and their families.
Payment pages are hosted by the chapter’s payment provider and open in a new tab. Nothing is collected or stored on this website.
Where the money goes
Local programs, local veterans

- ROTC cadet scholarships and cadet recognition
- Camp Corral and its military children’s programs
- Youngstown Blue Coats veteran outreach
- YSU Veteran Services
- Surviving spouse support and Taps recognition
- Newsletter printing, postage, and chapter operations
Tax notes
Receipts and year-end gifts
Gifts to a 501(c)(19) organization are tax deductible as charitable contributions. To count toward a given tax year, payment must be received by December 31 of that year. The treasurer sends a receipt by January 31 of the following year.
This information is believed to be accurate, but every situation differs. Contact your tax advisor for complete details.
Questions about a gift
Ask the treasurer about sponsorship artwork, receipt wording, or a gift made in memory of a member.
Another way to help
Join, and the dues do the work too.
Chapter dues are twenty dollars a year and fund the newsletter, the meetings, and the outreach above. Sponsors and donors are welcome to attend a meeting and see it first hand.
